I had the pleasure of movement directing Royal Ballet dancers David Donnelly and Matthew Ball for Michael Stukan, an incredibly talented designer who is currently a Menswear Fashion student at Central Saint Martins in London.
His newly-released short film entitled “Peat” was shot last fall in Buckinghamshire.
We drew a lot of inspiration for the movement from Pina Bausch and Anjelin Preljocaj as well as from Kiki Smith’s artwork and sculptures, all of which also heavily influenced Michael’s creative process.
